Lets say your niche is internet marketing. Now there are quite a lot of forums related to this niche but I will mention the ones I am active on.
These forums or any forum for that matter have hundreds and thousands of members and they are real people. Forums are the places where people from different walks of life hangout. They discuss stuff and share thoughts. And it is so easy to tap into this vast source of knowledge and information. All you have to do is participate in whatever you can. But no matter what you do please do not spam. Provide value and they will automatically follow you to your blog.
Its a no brainer when it comes to building traffic and followers using forums and blogs. It so easy specially compared to SEO, SEM, SMM and all those complicated softwares and procedures that we follow after reading guru report of some kind. All you have to is read, engage and share. You can get hundreds and laser targeted traffic by following this simple yet overlooked powerful technique.

This is the most obvious of the lot. The more you engage the more traffic you get. Period. But dont just engage, build relationships and provide value. This will result into repeated visitors and ultimately followers.
